MS in Human Factors, HCI, Industrial Engineering, or Cognitive PsychologyDesign Interactive currently has an opening for a human factors engineer that specializes in cognitive task analysis, conducting experiments, and observational analysis. The ideal candidate will have experience and expertise in the areas of instructional design, requirements engineering, user interface design, and usability engineering. Proven organization and communication skills required. Any experience with military interfaces or multimedia is a plus. Light programming experience is also a plus. Duties will include supporting several efforts in the areas of innovative system design and evaluation, multimodal interface design, adaptive training system design, and HSI tool development. Experience in cross-cultural competency, trust, and/or team training also desirable. Minimum Requirements: - Masters Degree in Human Factors, HCI, Industrial Engineering, or Cognitive Psychology, or a related discipline; instructional design minor preferred. - Experience in cognitive task analysis and gathering user-centered requirements from observational data. The candidate must have understanding of task analysis methods and requirements engineering approaches. - Experience developing appropriate artifacts from observational data, such as user profiles, task flows, user scenarios, use cases, requirements specifications, user error analysis, heuristic evaluations, and conceptual designs and prototypes (both hardware and software). - Ability to apply your knowledge of human performance, human factors, and instructional design techniques to design, development, and evaluation of interactive systems and products. - Solid understanding of the theories, principles, and data associated with human performance capabilities and limitations (perceptual, cognitive, motor, and neural) and instructional design, and the ability to apply this knowledge to the design, requirements definition, and evaluation of interactive training systems. - Ability to use appropriate human factors techniques to work with end users to determine end user behavior, preferences, and usage models, and integrate these into requirements specification and design documents. - Ability to plan and conduct end user evaluations of interactive system / product concepts, analyze data, and document evaluation methods and results. - Experience in preparing clear and effective oral and written technical reports and proposals. - Refereed publications - U.S. citizenship Qualified candidates should contact: Karen Gibbons, Karen.Gibbons@DesignInteractive.net Software/Systems Engineer I or II Design Interactive, Inc. is seeking an experienced, full-time Software/Systems Engineer I or II to
